29 MARCH 2006
TOTAL ECLIPSE
Antalya / TURKEY

---------------------------------------------------

Totality line swept across Anatolia diagonally from Antalya to Ordu
--------------------------------------------------

I observed the eclipse from Ilýca town near Side, just on the centerline.
-------------------------------------------------

I came in Ilýca on 27th of March for reinstalling scope and trial shots.

Istanbul University has arranged a magnificient observing area with electricity, wireless internet and security utilities.
-----------------------------------------------------

We had visitors from a nearby elementary school.

Telescope and Camera Setup that has been used to capture eclipse moments.
The 60 mm telescope is actually my old Russian made monocular.
The prisms were extracted and a variable photo adapter was inserted as tube extension.
The camera fixed at 16.8 mm of focal length. Telescope eyepiece focal length was 25 mm.
The scope and camera were coupled with a home designed a-focal adapter.
Resulting focal length of whole a-focal optical system corresponds to 183mm.
Overall f/number is 3.1, which enables relatively shorter exposure times at high magnifications.
Due to the nature of a-focally captured images, all my eclipse pictures are 180 degrees inverted.
